BIUFF exists for the films that festivals turn away — the raw, the political, the formally reckless, the unclassifiable. Our Founding Edition is a hybrid: a global online competition judged by an international jury, closing with a physical event in the heart of Berlin. This is where defiant cinema is discovered.

BIUFF is led by Amir Morsali, Festival Director — Production Manager on Mohammad Rasoulof's “The Seed of the Sacred Fig,” winner of the Special Jury Prize at Cannes 2024 and an Academy Award nominee in 2025.
